Chris is an old friend and new to AxisPoint.  He recently joined us to discuss the AxisPoint Health's continued progress as a Coordinated Care Management Leader after their divestiture last year from McKesson.

Chris' Bio

Chris Long is a well-rounded health care operating executive with deep expertise in operations, turnaround, integration, and business process outsourcing. In his role as EVP and Chief Operating Officer at AxisPoint Health, Mr. Long is responsible for strategy development, overseeing the execution of strategic plans and growth opportunities, providing leadership for building and sustaining scalable operations, and leading the operations and product management teams.

He previously served as President of ClearTurn Consulting, Inc., which specializes in advising health care payers and providers with a variety of strategic efforts including performance turnaround, outsourcing, and interim executive management. Prior to his role at ClearTurn Consulting, Mr. Long was COO of StayWell Health Management where he led Operations, IT, and Analytics. He was responsible for the integration of StayWell’s acquisition of LifeMasters, where he was General Manager prior to its acquisition.

Mr. Long’s experience also includes leading various aspects of Blue Shield of California’s contact centers and transaction processing functions. He developed and led a Business Process Outsourcing Center of Excellence where he was responsible for overseeing the company’s outsourcing strategy, execution, and management including contact centers, mailroom/imaging/data entry, electronic data interchange (EDI), benefit programming, system-interfaced printing, and collateral printing and fulfillment in both domestic and offshore facilities. Early in his career, Mr. Long was with a boutique management consulting firm assisting health systems with strategic planning and new business venture development.  Mr. Long holds a Bachelor of Science in Management Science and Information Technology from Virginia Tech.
